Many a composer has been inpired by nightttime - and Raphaël Fumet in particular, since another work, written for string orchestra, bears the same title. The composer's especial taste for the nocturnal contemplation of the starry vault also engedered this string quartet piece. Its mellow character, faring far from sweeping us into a spatial dizzaness, seems, on the contrary, to invite us to share a sort of intimist irradiation of Love through the immensity of infinity.
