Joseph CONCONE (real name Giuseppe) is best known as a singing teacher, hence, perhaps, the fluidity and charm - sometimes a little outdated, of his piano studies. Of course, as I did about the BERTINI studies, I can not help but draw a comparison between his and those of Chopin - unsurpassed models -.
It is true that compared to them everything that was composed in this kind seems to be insignificant or very creditable (which is not so bad!). I would classify the CONCONE studies into this category, after, however, those of HELLER and especially BERTINI. So I undertake with the invaluable help of Editions Delatour, the new edition of a collection of over 200 studies (two and four hands) that should still render great service to young pianists.
