As a pioneer of multicultural music, Mashayekhi likes to have dialogues with his favorite composers. However, each time he focuses on different elements and subjects. In this composition Mashayekhi has rearranged the beginning and end of Schubert’s Impromptu. This ‘recomposing’ is done in two different ways.
Sometimes his ‘recomposition’ remains true to Schubert’s original harmony, but at other times the harmony is also changed. The arpeggios, which is the main technique, used for the beginning and end of Schubert’s composition, appears only at the very end of Mashayekhi’s version.
