Joseph HAYDN's "Flötenuhr-Stücke" were conceived for mechanical clocks, and their transposition to a keyboard instrument is not always as obvious as their musical freshness might suggest.
The naive charm of these miniatures seems to make them ideal for young students who, for reasons of simple reading, find it very difficult to assimilate them in their original version.
