Adaptation for organ by Jean-Paul IMBERT This fantasy, composed for the piano, dates from 1782, but it was unfinished at the death of the composer, the last pages of the manuscript having disappeared. It is one of his familiar Eberhard Müller August that is supposed to have finished. It is a work in one continuous movement alternating different tempi, like the great fantasy for organ in F minor KV 608. Here the indications are: Andante, adagio, presto, tempo primo, presto, tempo primo, allegretto. Several traits of virtuosity, traversing the full extent of keyboards, serve as a link between these different moments. Started in a deep undertone, with broad arpeggios in the D minor tone, it ends with a joyous allegro in a d d major dazzling.
