Motum, for solo cello, is closely related to Pseudomorphosis II, for 5 instruments, of which it is a sort of «negative». The structural framework is the same - four sections played consecutively - as well as the same processual dimension. This idea is to explore different perceptions of speed according to the tempo and the kind of material. Both share the same chord as a starting point, but also share the idea of repetition and the proportional time relations to a given section. The transitions of speed are achieved proportionally.
