BISSO BANA (Children’s prayers) is a jazz piece composed for the french vocal big band “Choeur Artie Shaw”. It’s written for soprano and tenor soli, mixed choir and piano (or rhythm section). Balafons and djembes can be added too. Lyrics in Lingala and the much use of pentaphonic mode and polyrhythms exacerbate the african style of this composition.
